Ian played tennis at Tonbridge Tennis club as a junior and after attending Leeds Metropolitan University he returned to Tonbridge to be coached by Steve.

Through his guidance, Ian became a qualified Level 4  coach and started working at Tonbridge LTC and Tunbridge Wells LTC, a position he held for 18 years.  In 1999 he joined back up with Steve at the Indoor Tennis Centre as well as upgrading to CCA in 2001. He was then appointed Head Coach at Tonbridge LTC.

Ian coaches all areas, ages and abilities at JTS but is mainly focused on developing the Mini Orange and Mini Green performance players.  Ian played a major part in the development of two JTS players from the age of six to become nationally ranked in the top ten under 12’s.
